Deloume Road
At our last meeting, we decided that we'd read Deloume Road, but we didn't schedule a date just in case we could coordinate it with a visit from the author, (or at the very least a public reading in the area.) I just wrote a note to Matthew Hooton on his facebook page, inviting him to an Afictionados meeting as our honoured guest. (It's too bad I didn't have any photos of our typical spread of fine food, wine & chocolates to entice him!) At any rate, I'll let you know if he makes contact.

ReplyDeleteso exciting! i saw the book at chapters today and was sooooo tempted - but i've held off hoping we can purchase a whole round of books direct from him!

ReplyDeletehmmm... maybe i misunderstood. i thought the idea was to give him the business of buying direct through him as i thought that would mean more of a cut to him... like the music business. it makes sense though that it would be different! it's a different medium! good that you asked though :) thanks!
ReplyDeleteI know that when I had my little book in the local bookstores, they carried it with the understanding that I would not undercut their price. It does make sense. It was worth a try though!
