Globe trotters
You girls looked amazing in the Globe today! Kudos to Jen for submitting the idea & Amanda for generating interest with the blog. No doubt you've inspired a lot of other bookclubs to blog & to party at the beach! Cheers!
it's such a great shot! i wish i was there but i was busy turning 40 on the 2nd and had surprise visitors here!!! good article too :) my mother-in-law read it in t.o. and mentioned it on the phone to my hubby with neither of them realizing it was the book club that i belong to! he called back and she will save a copy if anyone is wanting it for a keepsake?
Agreed - great photo! Love it! Just thought I'd send a note to say that if you're reading The Book of Negroes, you should check out our archival material on the book - lots of interviews with the author, etc: www.cbc.ca/bookclub. The Book of Negroes was our book club pick for March and I had such a great time reading it and getting to know Larry (Lawrence Hill).
I loved the article and couldn't believe it was here in my own community and that, alas, I am the right age...hope to join your club but don't think I can whip through June's book by next week! So I hope to see you gals in the fall (or summer?)
